X-Wife (Portugal) : electro rock

Virus of post-punk has also reached Portugal with X-Wife, elastic trio formed by Joao Vieira, Fernando Sousa and Rui Maia that has even been blessed by British press. Halfway between Liquid Liquid, Death From Avobe 1979 and the new wave of de synth-punk, the Portuguese band débuted in 2004 with “Feeding The Machine” and, after supporting Bloc Party, LCD Soundsystem y Liars, among others, they try to break geographic barriers with the recent “Side Effects”.

Za (Espagne) : noise punk

They say that they sound like a "big cubic ball of granite" so their contract with Acuarela doesn’t stop being one of the most surprising news of the season. Especially if we are aware that Za is composed by three Catalans who like the noise as much as crossing the border of experimental hardcore. With only one released album, Terrassa's trio has already played with Yellow Swans and Lydia Lunch.
