Slash reveals all about 'Chinese Democracy'

Guns 'n' Roses' long awaited album 'Chinese Democracy' is finally set to be released in March, according to former guitarist Slash.

The news comes just weeks after reclusive singer Axl Rose revealed that the band's first material in 10 years was nearing completion.

Speaking about the release on Christian O'Connell's Virgin breakfast show, Slash confirmed that the record is done and he said a "very official source" had already heard it.

He added: "Yeah its going to happen, I've been made aware it's been heard.

"I'm really excited, it's been a long time waiting to see what the next step around the corner was going to be for him (Axl), we know where everybody else is, but we were wondering what he was going to be doing. It's coming out in March and apparently it sounds great."

Tracks slated to appear on the 13 track album include 'Better', 'There Was A Time' and 'The Blues'.

Although Axl and Slash have not spoken in the last 10 years, the velvet revolver guitarist said he was pleased that the record is finally going to see the light of day.

He added: "I've always been supportive over that thing, even though it's been turned in to a big controversial blah blah blah thing.

"When I left I was pretty pissed off for having to leave in the first place. After a while all the boo-haha that was stirred and all the negative press, sort of went in his direction, so I'm just waiting for the record to come out, so I'm glad where it's got to the point that that's happening."

J'avais downloader il y a quelques mois ce qui devait être le nouvel album, j'avais trouver mauvais. A part une chanson "Madagascar" que je trouvais pas mal et qui donne bien en live.

J'ai entendu au sujet de RAR mais c'est loin d'etre confirmé.

Axl Rose said that some of the new Guns N' Roses (GNR) music would have a Queen feel, but he didn't say it was because a member of Queen was on the new album Chinese Democracy. Queen's Brian May has admitted to being on the GNR song "Catcher In The Rye" that's been leaked on the Internet. On his official brianmay.com website, the guitarist wrote, "Yes, my guitar is there, nice and crisply recorded. It was a blast doing the sessions. I had flown out to LA specially to play on the record for Axl. I've sat on whatever I have or know about these songs ever since that moment... out of respect for Axl... confidentiality is part of respect for me."
May also wrote, "'Catcher In The Rye' is a great track... I like the track a lot and always did... and it still sounds very fresh... The thing that hits you first is that incredible, incredible voice... we've been missing it for far too long. Axl is magic."

"Catcher In The Rye" is one of a handful of songs that have appeared online in recent weeks. They're expected to be part of the new GNR album Chinese Democracy -- whenever it comes out. Guns N' Roses are lining up European shows for the late spring and summer. North American dates haven't been announced yet.
